About Blanco Escape
Blanco Escape is a boutique retreat brand focused on creating thoughtful winter experiences in Japan. Our retreats combine resort-based skiing and snowboarding, local food, comfortable lodging, and a relaxed group atmosphere for people who want more than a standard ski trip.
Each Blanco Escape retreat is intentionally small, community-oriented, and centered on enjoying Japan’s mountain culture in a responsible and respectful way.
Our Story
Blanco Escape was founded by Keenan Brown and his wife Valentina Autran Neiedbalski, a husband-and-wife team who split their time between Japan and the United States.
After spending extended periods living in the Myoko region, they created Blanco Escape as a way to share the experience of winter in Japan with like-minded travelers — focusing on quality snow, good food, meaningful connections, and a balanced pace rather than chasing extremes.
Keenan brings a background in entrepreneurship, hospitality, and outdoor culture, while Valentina plays a key role in shaping the guest experience, atmosphere, and day-to-day flow of each retreat. Together, they focus on creating an environment that feels welcoming, personal, and thoughtfully curated.
Skiing & Snowboarding Approach
Blanco Escape retreats are resort-focused, centered on lift-access skiing and snowboarding within patrolled resort boundaries.
Our goal is to enjoy great snow, good company, and the rhythm of mountain life — not to push limits or chase extreme terrain. Participants are encouraged to ski and ride at their own pace and comfort level, with an emphasis on safety, respect for resort rules, and personal responsibil
Safety & Responsibility
All skiing and snowboarding involve inherent risks. Participants are required to review and sign the Operator’s liability release prior to participation.
We strongly recommend that guests obtain travel insurance that covers skiing and snowboarding activities in Japan.
